The sugar in this recipe takes the tang out of the tomato sauce. Use more or less, depending on your taste. Adjust the salt to your liking also. Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef |
2 (14 ounce) cans tomato sauce |
1/2 cup ketchup |
1 teaspoon chili powder |
1 cup sugar |
salt |
Directions:
1. Place ground beef, tomato sauce, and ketchup in saucepan over medium heat. 2. Cook until meat is done (cooking it in the tomato sauce makes it thin). 3. Add chili powder, sugar, and salt. I usually taste along the way - you may need to add more salt or sugar. 4. Simmer 30 minutes or longer. The longer it simmers the better it is. 5. Serve with spaghetti noodles and shredded cheddar cheese, if desired. |
