My family thinks that this is the best chili ever. I serve it with chopped sweet onion, shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream for everyone to add as they please. Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef |
3 hot italian sausages, removed from casings and crumbled |
14 ounces tomato sauce |
5 1/2 ounces tomato paste |
14 ounces kidney beans |
14 ounces pinto beans |
14 ounces chili beans (heinz) |
28 ounces diced tomatoes, undrained |
10 ounces onion soup |
1 large onion, diced |
3 jalapeno peppers, diced, seeds removed |
1/2 cup celery, diced |
2 teaspoons cumin |
3 tablespoons chili powder |
1 teaspoon black pepper |
2 teaspoons kosher salt |
Directions:
1. Brown beef and sausage 2. Drain off fat. 3. Combine all ingredients 4. Simmer over low heat for 3 hours, stirring often. |
