I love saurekraught and home made is almost impossible to find. This recipie will help you revive that vinegar'y saurekraut into a fabulous addition to any sausage or even with perogies it's delicious. I have also used this for pergogie filling. Read more .. sooo good. Ingredients:
1 jar or can of sauerkraut |
1 medium carrot |
1 - 2 cloves of garlic finely chopped |
2 medium onions |
aprox 2 tablespoons fresh chopped dill (optional) |
magarine for frying |
salt and pepper to preference |
Directions:
1. drain the Sauerkraut into a strainer, run cold water over it for about 20 seconds,( enough to get the harsh vinegary taste out).. put aside. 2. Grate the carrot finely and chop the onion, and garlic small as well. 3. melt the margarine in a frying pan , then add the carrot,onion and garlic. 4. saute until soft . 5. add the sauerkraut in the frying pan with the ingredients listed above... fry on low for about 5 minutes. |
