This is one of many cookies that I make around Christmas time. They are very easy to make and quite rich tasting. The combination of chocolate and coconut is fabulous. Ingredients:
1/2 cup margarine or butter |
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs or digestive biscuit crumbs |
14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk |
6 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips |
3 1/2 ounce can of flaked coconut (1 1/3 cups) |
1 cup chopped nuts |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. If using a glass dish preheat to 325 degrees. 3. In 13 x 9 inch baking dish, melt margarine in oven. 4. Sprinkle crumbs over margarine. 5. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crumbs. 6. Top with remaining ingredients: the chocolate chips, coconut and nuts. 7. Press down on the mixture with a spatula. 8. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. 9. Cool. 10. Chill if desired. 11. Cut into bars. 12. Store loosely covered at room temperature. |
