My mom used to make this all the time growing up. It is a very moist and flavorful apple cake. She would double the recipe and bake in a 9x13 pan for 50 minutes. Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter flavor crisco |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup vegetable oil |
2 eggs |
1 1/2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 cups peeled and chopped apples |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. 2. Cream together butter and sugar. 3. Add oil and eggs, mix together well. 4. Stir baking powder, cinnamon, and salt into the flour; add to wet mixture. 5. Stir in apples and vanilla extract. 6. Pour into 9 inch square pan. 7. Sprinkle with sugar and/or cinnamon if desired. 8. Bake for 35-40 minutes. |
