This recipe came from a Betty Crocker cookbook many years ago. It's especially good with a white cake and fluffy white frosting. Ingredients:
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
1 tablespoon flour |
3 tablespoons orange juice |
1/2 cup soft butter |
1/4 cup raisins |
2 egg yolks, beaten |
1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans) |
Directions:
1. Mix all except nuts and yolks in a small saucepan, stirring until it comes to a boil. Cook for 1 minute. Slowly pour half into the yolks, stirrring constantly so as not to cook them. Then stir into the remaining filling in the saucepan. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add the nuts. Cool. |
