Call it a heart attack on a plate, but this is my husband's & kids' favorite dinner. Ingredients:
1 lb bacon |
1 lb pasta (traditionally it was spaghetti, but elbows are fine) |
black pepper |
Directions:
1. Dice the bacon. Saute the bacon in a med hot pan till well rendered and a little crispy. Drain, reserving the fat. 2. Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain. 3. Combine warm bacon & pasta in large bowl. Sprinkle liberally with black pepper - use a heavy hand! Add some of the melted bacon fat, stirring well, till the pasta looks shiny but not slimy. 4. Serve hot. |
