This is a hearty meat and pasta dish thats popular in the region of Sete in the south of France. Ingredients:
1 medium onion, chopped |
3 garlic cloves, minced |
1 (28 ounce) can chopped tomatoes |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
1 teaspoon sugar |
12 ounces roast beef, shredded |
5 ounces ham, chunked |
3/4 cup red wine |
1/4 teaspoon black pepper |
16 ounces rigatoni pasta |
Directions:
1. Place the onion and garlic in a saucepan.Cover and cook over medium-low heat for ten minutes or until soft and translucent. 2. Stir in the tomatoes,tomato paste and sugar.Bring to boil over medium heat.Reduce to low and add water if necessary.Cover and simmer stirring occasionally for 1 hour. 3. Stir in the beef,ham,wine and pepper.Cover and cook for 30 minutes.Cook the rigatoni according to the package direction until tender,drain. 4. Serve topped with sauce. |
