Macerating is similar to marinating but usually refers to soaking fruit in an alcohol concoction to soften it. Sugared and combined with Grand Marnier, these ripe berries give up their own juices until they swim in a delicious, sweet liquid. These are great on their own or over vanilla ice cream or plain yogurt.
Ingredients:
2 cups sliced strawberries
2 cups fresh blueberries
1 cup fresh raspberries
1 tablespoon sugar
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
3 tablespoons grand marnier (orange-flavored liqueur)
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients, stirring gently. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight, stirring occasionally.
