Very simple pasta bake for when your fridge is empty. Ingredients:
1/2 onion, diced |
1 clove garlic, minced |
4 slices ham, diced |
1 cup elbow macaroni |
3/4 cup milk |
2 tbsp flour |
2 tbsp olive oil |
1 oz (25 grams) shredded cheese |
1 salt, pepper, chilipowder |
Directions:
1. Boil pasta. While it's cooking do the following... 2. Dice onion and mince garlic. Sautee in the oil until browned and yummy smelling. Add the cubed ham and let sautee one more minute. 3. Add the flour and stir. Let cook for another minute or two before adding the milk. 4. Add spices and let simmer until thickening. If it doesn't you need to dissolve 1 tbps of corn starch in 1 tbsp of water and add to the sauce. It usually helps. 5. When it's nice and thick add the pasta and stir well. Pour into a casserole dish and top with shredded cheese. 6. Put in oven until cheese is melted and everything looks cooked through, usually 10-15 mins on 200°C (390°F). |
