My recipe for Macaroni and Hamburger. Add more or less red pepper flakes, according to your liking. I also use 1 can of mexican tomatoes with green chilies and the other can is stewed tomatoes with jalapenos. We like it hot! Weight watcher points = 6 per serving. Ingredients:
2 pounds ground sirloin |
1 green pepper, chopped |
1 medium onion, chopped |
4 garlic cloves, minced |
28 ounce tomato sauce |
30 ounce tomatoes, diced |
16 ounce shell macaroni |
3 tablespoons chili powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes |
4 ounce mushrooms |
2 cups water |
Directions:
1. Cook macaroni according to package directions, drain well. 2. Brown the ground chuck along with the onions and green pepper. Drain well and put back into a large stock pot. 3. Add the tomato sauce, 2 cans of tomatoes, seasonings and water. 4. Add the mushrooms and shell macaroni. Simmer for 1/2 hour. Taste and adjust as needed. |
