A creamy mac & cheese that goes well as a side dish. My family devours this dish Ingredients:
1-1/2 c elbow macaroni cooked and drained |
3 tbsp butter |
2 tbsp flour |
1/2 tsp salt |
dash pepper |
2 c milk |
1/4 c finely chopped onion |
8 oz extra sharp cheese |
Directions:
1. In a saucepan, Melt butter 2. blend in flour,slat,pepper 3. add 2 C milk and cook & stir until bubbly & thick 4. add cheese and (onion if desired) 5. stir until melted 6. mix cheese sauce with the macaroni 7. turn into greased (buttered) 1-1/2 quart casserole 8. bake at 350* preheated oven about 35-45 min or until top is golden brown. |
