Originally recorded in Dad's handwriting, I've updated it to suit my more adult tastes. Ingredients:
1 lb 90% lean ground beef |
1 tablespoon vegetable oil |
1/2 cup chopped onion |
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper |
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce |
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes, with juices |
2 cups cooked elbow macaroni |
1/2 cup water |
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt |
1/4 teaspoon black pepper |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1/2 teaspoon chili powder |
Directions:
1. Heat oil in heavy skillet. 2. Brown beef. 3. Add onion and green pepper and sauté until vegetables soften. 4. Drain off excess fat. 5. Add remaining ingredients. 6. Bring to a boil, turn down to a simmer and cook 15 min, stirring occasionally. |
