This comes from Sam Choy and the Makaha Sons Cookbook. Ingredients:
3 egg yolks |
3 cups milk |
3/4 cup sugar |
1/3 cup cornstarch |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
2 tablespoons butter |
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract |
1 cup macadamia nuts, roasted and chopped |
9 inches pie shells, baked |
Directions:
1. Combine egg yolks, milk, sugar, cornstarch, salt and butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil for 1 minutes and remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and macadamia nuts. Pour into pie shell, chill covered with plastic wrap. |
