My husband married me on the condition that I never buy a jar of spaghetti sauce and that I ALWAYS use his mother's recipe. No complaints here! (I pretty much never let it simmer a full hour, so I can't tell you if it actually needs to simmer that long, but I think 20 minutes cooking time is plenty.) Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste |
2 1/4 cups water |
2 tablespoons instant minced onion or 1/2 chopped onion |
1 tablespoon parmesan cheese |
1 tablespoon parsley flakes |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 teaspoon italian seasoning |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
1 beef bouillon, cube |
1 lb spaghetti noodles |
Directions:
1. Brown beef and season with salt and pepper. 2. Add tomato paste, water, onion, and remaining seasoning. 3. Simmer one hour, stirring often. 4. Serve over noodles. |
