This has the most unusual taste and it is provided by the pineapple. I doubled the pineapple called for. Can't seem to keep it in my pantry now. Its such a favorite. Ingredients:
4 lbs soft pears |
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained |
5 lbs sugar |
1/4 cup fruit fresh |
1 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Peel pears and run through a food chopper using the medium blade. 2. Add to sugar and salt. 3. Add crushed pineapple and juice and bring to a boil for 5 minutes. 4. Add the fruit fresh and cook on medium. 5. Boil for 20 minutes. 6. Makes 8 pints. |
