A creamy lime topping turns angel food cake into these yummy squares that are perfect for picnics or potlucks. Ingredients:
1 pkg(.3 oz) sugar-free lime jello |
1c boiling water |
1 prepared angel food cake(8 ) cut into 1 cubes |
1 pkg(8 oz) reduced fat cream cheese,cubed |
1/2c sugar |
2tsp lemon juice |
11/2tsp grated lemon peel |
1 carton(8oz) reduced-fat whipped topping,thawed,divided |
Directions:
1. In a bowl,dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Refrigerate until mixture just begins th thicken,about 35 mins. Place cake cubes in a 13x9 dish coated with cooking spray;set aside 2. In a small mixing bowl,beat cream cheese until smooth. Beat in sugar,lemon juice and peel. Add gelatin mixture;beat until combined. Fold in 11/2c whipped topping. Spread ove cake,covering completely.
