I got this recipe from an anicent lowfat cooking cookbook. Now they are on my christmas tray every year Ingredients:
2 egg whites |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar |
2/3 cup sugar |
1/4 cup finely crushed peppermint candy |
Directions:
1. place egg whites in a mixing bowl and let sit for 1 hour. 2. add vanilla and cream of tartar to egg whites. 3. beat with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. 4. add sugar 1 tablespoon at a time. 5. beat until stiff peaks form. 6. grease a cookie sheet and sert aside. 7. gently fold crushed candies into beaten egg whites. 8. drop from a rounded teaspoon 1 1/2 inches apart. 9. bake at 325 ten minutes. 10. cool and then store in airtight container. |
