Lower Fat Chocolate Chip Cookies |

My husband was half way through making cookies from my regular recipe when he realized we didn't have enough butter. I suggested substituting applesauce for the difference and we found we loved the texture of these cakey chocolate chip cookies. Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup butter |
1/2 cup applesauce |
3/4 cup sugar |
3/4 cup brown sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
2 eggs |
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugars. Add applesauce and eggs until blended. Mix final ingredients. Mix in chips. Using cookie scoop, drop onto silpat lined cookie sheet. Bake 9-11 minutes. Cool on cookie sheet for two minutes before tranfering to cooling rack. |
