I love hummus and even though it's good for you it's high in calories. Here is a way to cut some of those calories and not sacrifice any flavor at all. Ingredients:
1 can of chick peas (garbanzo's) drained with liquid reserved |
2 cups of cooked cauliflower (cook it until it is soft enough to mash with a fork) |
2 cloves of garlic crushed (i love garlic-use however much you like) |
1.5 tablespoons of olive oil |
2 teaspoons of cumin |
salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. in a food processor blend the cauliflower and garbanzo's until mixed and chunky 2. add everything else except the reserved liquid 3. start blending adding the reserved liquid a little at a time until it is the consistency you like 4. ENJOY! |
