I wanted a low salt and healthy chowder and this is what I ended up with. I hope you enjoy it as mush as I have.
Ingredients:
2 cups water
1 cup potato, diced
1/2 cup carrot, diced
1/2 cup celery, diced
1 small onion, chopped
1/4 cup wondra flour
2 cups skim milk
1 teaspoon salt substitute
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 cup frozen corn
4 ounces low-sodium cheddar cheese
4 1/2 ounces low-sodium tuna in water
1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1 teaspoon dried parsley
Directions:
1. Place water, potato, carrots, onion and celery in lg sauce pan.
2. Bring to boil then simmer for 15 minute.
3. Shake wondra and milk in shaker then add to veggie mix.
4. Drain tuna and flake.
5. Add tuna to mix.
6. Add all additional ingredients.
7. Slowly bring to boil over low heat stirring often.
8. Let simmer on very low heat for 5-10 min stirring often.
9. Eat it up :) Enjoy!
10. I think it tastes good but I am used to low salt. If you feel like it needs some salt use fresh ground sea salt at the table.
11. Fact: When you salt your food at the table instead of cooking with it you can taste it more.
