High protein. Low Fat. Easy to prepare. I found this in Ladies Home Journal magazine. I have not tried this recipe, but I'm posting it for safe keeping. Ingredients:
16 ounces honeysuckle ground turkey breast (1 package or turkey breast strips, cut into small cubes) |
1 teaspoon ground cumin |
1 teaspoon chili powder |
1 teaspoon dried oregano |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
4 ounces chopped green chilies |
15 ounces black beans |
1/2 cup salsa, plus some |
salt |
baked tortilla |
shredded non-fat cheese |
chopped tomato |
shredded lettuce |
taco sauce |
Directions:
1. Spray a large non-stick skillet with cooking spray. Heat skillet over high heat for 30 seconds. Add turkey, sprinkle with seasonings and saute until browned and no longer pink. Add black beans, green chilies and salsa; cover skillet and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes. 2. Serve on baked baked tortilla chips with salsa, shredded non-fat cheese, chopped tomatoes, shredded lettuce and taco sauce. |
