I adapted this simple recipe to make it more appropriate for diabetic and low fat diets.It may seem tart because of the low sugar but you get used to this.
Ingredients:
6 cups chopped apples
1 cup whole wheat flour
3 cups oats
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup margarine
2 tsp cinnamon
Directions:
1. Put chopped apples in a 9 x 13 pan. Blend remaining ingredients with a fork or pastry blender until crumbly.
2. Pour over apples and press into place.Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
