The original recipe called for 1/2 cup of canola oil, and it served 6. The recipe stated it only contained 1 gram of fat per serving, but I looked up canola oil online and it has 14 grams of fat per tablespoon, which is about 120 grams of fat for 1/2 cup. Divide that by 6 that's 20 grams of fat per serving just with the canola oil. Did I do the math wrong? How is this recipe only 1 gram of fat each using canola oil? I haven't tried it yet, just wanted to see what the nutrition facts said after I took out the canola oil. Ingredients:
6 -8 egg whites or 1 cup egg substitute |
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract |
1 banana, mashed |
1 cup all-purpose flour |
1/3 cup oats |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup cocoa powder |
1/3 cup chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Beat the eggs in a separate bowl, then mix with vanilla, and the mashed banana. 3. In a separate bowl combine flour, rolled oats, sugar and cocoa. 4. Pour the egg mixture into the flour/oats mixture and beat till combined. 5. Fold in the chocolate chips. 6. Pour into a 9 inch square pan lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil and bake 25 to 30 minutes. 7. Cool for 15 minutes and Enjoy! |
