Low Budget Fancy Party Toast With Mushrooms and Cheese |

This is a fancy variation of my German family's party toasts. It will wow your guest and your wallet will still love you since this will not brake the bank Ingredients:
12 slices toast |
1 1/2 cups mushrooms, chopped (canned or fresh) |
1/3 lb deli ham, (12 slices) chopped |
1/4 cup whipping cream |
1/2 onion, chopped |
12 slices cheese, american singles |
salt |
pepper |
curry powder |
paprika, powder |
Directions:
1. toast toasting bread light golden brown and let cool on baking rack. 2. saute finely chopped onions in some butter until glassy. 3. ad chopped mushrooms, ham and spices.saute until all has a nice golden brown color. 4. ad just enough whipping cream to make a very thick creamy topping (approximately 1/4 cup, maybe a little less) and cook until some of the cream has reduced. 5. spoon mixture onto toast. 6. top with cheese. 7. pre heat oven to 400 degrees and bake for 5-10 minutes until cheese is melting and just lightly golden brown. Take care not to burn cheese. 8. let toast cool off for 2-4 minutes and serve with a green salad. |
