This is a great snack, lunch box, desert,breakfast or anything, muffins Ingredients:
1/3 cup shortening |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1 1/2 cups cake flour |
1 1/2 tsp. salt |
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg |
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder |
1 1/2 cups milk |
glaze..... |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 tblesp. cinnamon |
1/2 cup butter |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven on 325F. 2. In a large bowl, cream shortening, sugar and egg. 3. In another bowl, combine all dry ingredients and mix well. 4. Add dry mixture to creamed mixture,alternating with milk. 5. Fill greased muffin pan half full. 6. Bake for 25 minutes. 7. Let muffins cool for 3 minutes. 8. Meanwhile, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1 Tblesp. cinnamon in small bowl. 9. Roll or brush muffins with 1/2 cup melted butter, then roll in sugar mixture. |
