Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups cornmeal |
1/3 cup sifted all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 tablespoons shortening, melted |
2 eggs, beaten |
1 cup buttermilk |
2 cups milk, divided |
Directions:
1. Combine dry ingredients; add shortening, eggs, buttermilk, and 1 cup milk, mixing well. Pour batter into a lightly greased 2-quart casserole. Pour remaining milk over batter in casserole; do not stir. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. |
