Japanese Meals on the Go – Bento Boxes by Naomi Kijima Ingredients:
1 ounce fresh lotus root |
1 teaspoon cooking oil |
1/2 tablespoon soy sauce |
1 teaspoon sugar |
1 teaspoon mirin |
1 teaspoon sake |
1 tablespoon water |
Directions:
1. Peel the lotus root and cut in half lengthwise. Slice into thin half rounds. 2. Soak in cold water. Drain well. 3. Sauté the lotus root in the oil. Add the other ingredients and cook for 2-3 minutes. |
