Found this recipe on line. LOVE big fluffy biscuits! Ingredients:
2 cups self-rising flour |
1 cup shortening |
3/4 cup buttermilk |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 450 2. Mix the flour and shortening with fork or pastry cutter until resembles coarse meal. 3. Add the buttermilk and stir until a dough forms. 4. Drop them by spoonfuls on to a greased baking sheet and cook in a 400ยบ oven for 15 minutes. 5. OR turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently until smooth, (maybe 6-8 times. I just keep folding it over into itself), pat out to about 1/2 thick and cut biscuits out with buiscuit cutter. 6. Bake at 400 about 15 minutes |
