We use a small crockpot to make our fondues. Very easy. If the cheese and broth start to separate, add more cornstarch. Ingredients:
1 lb jarlsberg cheese |
2 tablespoons cornstarch |
1 3/4 cups chicken broth |
3 tablespoons white grape juice |
1 tablespoon vinegar |
6 ounces lobsters, cooked and chopped |
1 dash salt |
1 dash white pepper or 1 dash cayenne pepper |
2 sourdough baguettes, cut into bitesize cubes |
2 apples, chopped |
Directions:
1. Shred the cheese. Toss the shredded cheese with the cornstarch until evenly coated. Pour the broth into a pot and set over low heat until bubbles rise. Gradually add the cheese, a handful at a time, until the cheese is completely melted. Do not let boil. 2. Transfer to a warmed crockpot on low (or keep it in pot to eat). Stir in the juice, vinegar, and lobster. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. 3. Serve with dippers. |
