~Dessert~ Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup light cream |
6 tablespoons butter,softened |
2 fresh eggs |
1-1/2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
zest ,grated finely (one each) fresh lemon,orange,lime |
glaze |
1/2 cup(plus)1 tablespoon sugar |
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice |
2 tablespoons fresh orange jucie |
1 tablespoons fresh lime juice |
mix the ingredients for glaze in saucepan,cook and stir over a low heat until sugar is dissolved and,mixture is slightly thick.(prepare this during last stage of baking the loaf) |
Directions:
1. Combine sugar,cream,butter and eggs,mix well. 2. Blend in the dry ingredients and the three zests. 3. Pour batter into a greased,floured,9x5 loaf pan. 4. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 50 to 60 minutes(or)until toothpick comes out clean. 5. Allow to cool slightly,then remove from pan,onto wax paper. 6. Prick top of loaf with fork. 7. Pour warm glaze over top of loaf. 8. Serve warm,or at room temperature |
