5-Ingredient Fix Contest Entry. I like this recipe because it is versatile with beef, pork or chicken. I add salt and pepper to our families' liking; for easy clean-up, I use a spray release.
Ingredients:
1 (20 ounce) bag simply potatoes diced potatoes with onion
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup sour cream
2 cups grated mild cheddar cheese
3 tablespoons oscar mayer ready to serve bacon bits
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Use a 9 x 13 baking dish.
3. Whisk together heavy cream, sour cream in a large bowl.
4. Pour the bag of potatoes into the large bowl and coat well.
5. Pour potato mixture into baking dish.
6. Put dish in 400 degree Fahrenheit oven, and bake for approximately 50 minutes.
7. Pull the dish out of oven, and sprinkle cheese over the top of the potatoes, and put back in oven, and continue baking for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
8. Pull the dish out of oven again, and sprinkle bacon bits over the cheese, and bake for 5 more minutes.
9. Remove dish from oven, and serve hot.
