A baked potato dip that actually has potatoes in it. This is on my appetizer list for Christmas Eve. Enjoy....Courtesy of the good folks at Nabisco. Ingredients:
1/2 cup instant potato flakes |
1/2 cup milk |
1 cup sour cream |
4 oz. of cream cheese, softened |
2 green onions, sliced, divided |
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese |
2 tbsp. real bacon bits |
your choice of dippers. |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Mix potato flakes and milk in large bowl; let stand 5 min. or until milk is absorbed. 3. Add sour cream, cream cheese, and half of the onions, mix well. 4. (Dip will be soft set.) 5. Spoon into baking dish or 9 in pie plate; sprinkle with cheese and bacon bits. 6. Bake 15 to 20 min. or until cheese is melted and dip is heated through. Sprinkle with remaining onions. 7. Now, I don't believe this really will serve 22 people, so I'm going to double it! 8. Lighten recipe by using neufchatel cheese, light sour cream, lowfat cheddar, etc. 9. Serve with dippers. |
