3 -5 lbs pork butt or 3 -5 lbs pork shoulder |
1 large onion, sliced |
5 -6 garlic cloves, smashed |
12 ounces reed's ginger beer (1 bottle) |
18 ounces pendleton original barbecue sauce (large bottle) |
1 teaspoon pepper |
1 teaspoon paprika |
1 teaspoon mustard |
1 teaspoon coffee |
1 teaspoon ginger |
1 teaspoon sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. 1 nice, healthy pork butt. 2. Rub w/ pepper, paprika, mustard, coffee, ginger, sugar, salt. 3. Cover, let sit in fridge overnight. 4. Remove next day, allow to rest room temp for 2 hours, 5. place in crock pot. /1f7cca. 6. Top roast w/ garlic and sliced onions. /1f7ctu. 7. Pour in one bottle of ginger beer. Cover, set crock pot on low 12 hours and cook. /1f7d9h. 8. After 12 hours, remove remaining fat, shred, return to pot along w/bottle of BBQ sauce and cook 4 more hours. 9. Place on buns w/slaw & enjoy. |
