This is a great little treat when you want something different and want it quick! One morning I used the left over omelet ingredients to make a special treat for myself and this was the wonderful end result! Ingredients:
8 oz. mushrooms, sliced thin |
1 cup baked ham cut into small chunks |
1 stick butter |
shredded cheese(about 2 tablespoons per slice of bread) |
1/2 bunch green onions, sliced |
4 slices of good quality bread or english muffins |
salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Melt 1/2 of the stick of butter in microwave. 2. Brush the bread on each side. 3. Brown bread under broiler or in skillet until lightly browned. 4. Turn and do other side of bread. 5. In skillet, heat remaining butter. 6. Add ham, green onions and mushrooms and cook until mushrooms are golden brown. 7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 8. Top each slice of bread with 1/4 of the mushroom mixture. 9. Top with a sprinkle of cheese and place under broiler until cheese is melted and lightly browned. 10. Serve |
