This cute little recipe I saw in a magazine and thought how perfect for fall. You can use any type of orange cold packed flavored cheese and crackers you wish.
Ingredients:
8 tablespoons smoked cheddar cold packed cheese (from 8-oz container),well chilled
finely chopped peanuts or pecans or other type of nut you desire
crackers
pretzel sticks, broken in half
tiny pieces of fresh flat leaf italian parsley
Directions:
1. Roll each tablespoon of cold pack cheese into a ball; place on waxed paper-lined serving plate.
2. (Refrigerate 10 to 15 minutes for easier handling.)
3. With end of toothpick, draw ridges around balls to resemble pumpkins. Dip bottoms of cheese balls in chopped peanuts. (or the nut of your choice)
4. Just before serving, insert pretzel halves into cheese balls for pumpkin stems and place on a cracker. Decorate with parsley for leaves. Store in the refrigerator.
