This recipe is from a childhood friend's mother, Linda. She makes it for her family and I was lucky enough to be included. I'm not a huge fan of maple syrup so this is a very yummy alternative! (Yield is approximate.) Ingredients:
1 cup white sugar |
1/2 cup light karo syrup |
1/4 cup water |
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 cup evaporated milk |
Directions:
1. Combine sugar, syrup, water and cinnamon and cook over medium heat until syrup comes to a boil, stirring constantly. 2. Boil for 2 minutes. 3. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes. 4. Stir in evaporated milk and enjoy! 5. Very yummy on french toast, pancakes or waffles! |
