I have been making this recipe for years... Originally I got it from a girl at work, but I have tweaked it to my liking, and it's really packed with lots of different flavors! It is great with any meat dish, and really good with meat off the grill... I have seen it at weddings, pot lucks and showers, and it goes well with just about anything! Ingredients:
2 -3 heads broccoli, snipped, small flowerettes taste best |
1 small red onion, chopped |
1 (8 ounce) package mozzarella cheese |
8 -10 slices bacon, cooked, ripped into small pieces |
1 cup mayonnaise |
3 teaspoons white vinegar |
1/4 cup sugar |
1 cup low-fat mayonnaise or 1 cup fat-free mayonnaise |
3 teaspoons white vinegar |
3 (1 g) packets splenda sugar substitute, a 3-4 |
hormel real bacon bits |
Directions:
1. If using bacon, cook bacon until crispy, then drain, and crumble. 2. Cut broccoli heads with scissors into small flowerettes. 3. Chop onions. 4. Mix first 4 ingredients in a large bowl. 5. Mix the sauce (which ever one you choose to use)ingredients in a separate bowl. 6. Add to broccoli mix, and mix well. 7. Chill, and serve. 8. Note: Sometimes I add sunflower seeds to this recipe, and other times I add a small can of black olives. You can also add raisins or craisins. |
