A melt in your mouth dessert bar. My grandmother used to make it for us. I haven't made thes myself yet, but I can tell you they are tasty.
Ingredients:
1 lb of butter, at room temperature
1 cup of light brown sugar
1 tbsp green food colouring; optional
4 cups of flour
1/2 cup of cornstarch
2 tbsp fresh lime zest
1 cup shelled pistachios
1 cup of white chocolate chips
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
2. Beat the butter with the sugar and food colouring until fluffy.
3. Next add lime zest and cornstarch.
4. Mix well.
5. And add the flour and mix until blended.
6. Add chocolate chips, and pistachios and mix until well-combined.
7. Using a 9x13-inch baking pan, covered with parchment paper, pour batter into pan.
8. Press the dough evenly across the pan(about 1/2 of an inch thick). The dough will not fill the pan completely.
9. You should have a good 2 inches of space between the dough and the edge of the pan.
10. Put the pan on to the middle rack in your oven and bake for 30 minutes.
11. Turn the pan and continue baking until the dough is golden brown, and firm to the touch. Do not over bake.
12. Let cool.
13. Cut into bars.
