last night my husband who hates lima beans came home and I said there are lima beans that you don't have to eat if you don't want, thinking he would not touch them and I'd have them all to myself... Read more . to my total surprise he got himself a big helping and went back for seconds! and then the kids decided to give them a shot - and liked! figure this news must be worth sharing! Ingredients:
frozen baby limas |
diced onion |
diced green bell pepper |
a little fresh garlic if you like |
butter |
marjoram |
white pepper (so kids don't automatically say no w/out trying) |
salt |
optional garnish |
diced tomato or slices of cherry or grape tomatoes |
crumbled feta |
chives |
parsley |
(my kids really go for it when they get to pinch some herbs from the garden and dress up their dish themselves) |
Directions:
1. cook your lima beans according to package 2. meanwhile, sautee onions, green bell peppers, marjoram, white pepper in butter over high heat. near end of sautee add garlic if you like it. 3. salt it up. 4. serve with small dishes of garnishes to choose from! |
