Addicting flavor that's great served over rice. Ingredients:
1 lb baby lima's |
1 large onion, chopped |
3/4 t basil |
salt to taste |
1 t olive oil |
2 cloves garlic, pressed |
3/4 t thyme |
1/2 t dry mustard |
pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Pick beans to discard bad beans, rocks, etc. 2. Put beans in a strainer and wash. 3. Pour beans in a large pot and cover with water at least 2-3 inches above the beans. 4. Cover pot and bring it to a boil; turn it off and let sit for 1 hour. 5. Add onion, garlic, oil and spices; cover. 6. Bring pot to a boil; lower heat and simmer until well done and juice thickens or add water if necessary. 7. Adjust seasoning to taste. 8. Serve with rice. |
