this sponge is light as a feather,can be decorated as desired Ingredients:
250g marg |
2 cups castor sugar |
5 eggs |
2 1/2 cups self raising flour |
1/2 cup milk |
lemon ess or zest of lemon |
syrup:1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup water |
1/4 cup lemon juice |
Directions:
1. cream marg and sugar 2. add eggs,one at a time 3. add flour 4. add milk 5. add ess 6. pour into tin 7. bake at 180 degrees till skewer comes out clean 8. syrup:boil ingred together,til syrupy but not very thick 9. prick cake with fork 10. pour syrup over 11. and good scoop of ice cream |
