From Lifeforce Mill in County Cavan.Wonderful fresh and hot fromt he oven with lots of Irish butter From the Irish Heritage Cookbook Ingredients:
1 1/2 c flour |
1 tsp baking soda |
1/4 c steel-cut oats lifeforce or mccann's |
1/2 c oatmeal (smae brands if possible) |
1 c whole wheat flour |
1 tsp salt |
1 1/2 c buttermilk |
Directions:
1. 400 oven 9X5 greased loaf pan 2. In a large bow, sift together the flour and bakig soda 3. Add the oats, oat,meal, whole wheat flour and salt; stir to combine 4. Make a well in the center and add the buttermilk 5. Stir until a soft dough forms 6. Turn into a prepared pan and bake until lightly browned, 40 to 45 minutes. 7. Serve with Kerrygold butter |
