Waffles that don't have any relation to white bread. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour |
1/2 cup ground roasted soybeans |
1/4 cup powdered milk |
1/4 cup ground flax seeds |
5 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 cups skim milk |
2 eggs |
1/2 cup canola oil |
1 cup chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. Combine dry ingredients except walnuts in a large bowl, and mix well. 2. Whisk wet ingredients together in smaller bowl. 3. Pour liquid into dry ingredients, and mix until thoroughly blended. 4. Heat waffle iron. 5. Pour 1/4 cup waffle batter into waffle iron, and sprinkle a handful of nuts on top of batter. 6. Bake for 4-5 minutes until waffle is crispy and brown. 7. Serve hot, or reheat in the toaster later. |
