~Sourdough bread~ Ingredients:
1 cup of your sourdough starter |
1 cup lettuce,finely chopped |
2-1/2 cups whole wheat flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoons soda |
1/2 teaspoons sea salt |
1/8 teaspoons mace |
1/8 teaspoons ginge |
1/8 teaspoons cinnamon |
1 cup honey(last years harvest) |
1/2 cup oil |
1 teaspoons lemon peel,grated |
2 farm fresh eggs |
1/2 cup milk |
1/2 cup nuts,chopped |
Directions:
1. Place sourdough in bowl,add honey,oil,lemon peel,eggs and milk . 2. Add the dry ingredients and nuts,beating well. 3. Stir in the lettuce. 4. Place in greased and floured loaf pan. 5. Bake at 350 degrees for about 50 to 60 minutes. 6. Cool a bit and turn out on wire rack. 7. Note: This is a moist loaf and will be better if you allow it to be stored for several hours before your slice into it. |
