I have been making this for about 30 years. Very easy. It can be served as an appetizer or as a main course over rice or pasta. Have plenty of crusty bread on hand to dip in the sauce.
Ingredients:
1 lb shrimp, shells removed
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
2 tablespoons barbecue sauce
1 bay leaf, crushed
1 garlic clove, crushed (or 1 tbls minced)
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dry crushed red pepper
1 tablespoon hot sauce (i use red hot)
Directions:
1.
Melt butter….sauté shrimp add wet ingredients and then the dry ingredients and serve over rice or pasta.
2.
Note: I prep the dry ingredients in a ramikin and the wet ingredients in a seperate ramikin to add to the shrimp just before they are done.
