This is a very tasty dhal I got from my sister-in-law who got it from one of her cookbooks, I don't know which one. I'll update later when I get the name. Ingredients:
1 1/4 lbs chopped fresh spinach or 1 1/4 lbs frozen chopped spinach |
1 medium onion, sliced in half rings |
5 tablespoons oil |
2 minced garlic cloves |
1 cup red lentil |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon cumin |
1 teaspoon black pepper |
Directions:
1. heat onion and garlic for 2 min. 2. add lentils and 3 cups water and bring to a boil. 3. cover and simmer on low for 25 min. 4. add spinach, salt, cumin and bring to simmer for another 5 minutes. |
