2 onions, chopped |
1 green pepper, chopped |
2 tablespoons garlic, chopped |
2 (15 1/2 ounce) cans red kidney beans, drained |
1 (15 1/2 ounce) can chopped tomatoes |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
2 tablespoons chili powder |
2 teaspoons salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1/8 teaspoon cayenne |
1/2 teaspoon caraway seed |
1 dash liquid smoke (optional) |
5 -6 cups water |
Directions:
1. boil water and cook lentils for 30 min covered. 2. add remaining ingredients cook covered for 30 min more. 3. (optional) insert immersion blender and blend for a couple seconds to thicken up the chili but leave some chunks . |
