This is a hearty chili. The only chili my DS will eat because he hates beans. It is also a great pantry/shelf stable dish. Ingredients:
5 cups water |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 lb dry lentils (we like the red) |
1 lb tomato |
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder |
1/2 teaspoon cumin |
Directions:
1. Add salt to water and heat to boiling. Add the lentils and simmer for 30 minutes. Do not drain! 2. Add everything else and simmer for 10-15 minutes. |
