This dish was likely eaten by the Muslims in Malta during the Holy month of Ramadan, since the name in Arabic Fatir Ramadan, means, 'bread of Ramadan'. I found this recipe in the Weekend magazine dated April 22'2005. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 lb bread dough
6 tablespoons olive oil
6 tablespoons honey
Directions:
1. Form dough into 12 balls.
2. Cover and allow to stand for 30 minutes.
3. Roll balls into 1/8 inch-thick rounds.
4. Heat oil in a frying pan.
5. Fry the rounds until golden brown. Remember to turn them over once while frying.
6. Drizzle honey on the rounds.
7. Serve while still warm.
8. Enjoy!
